A camping we will go...

We took a quick trip camping this weekend! We didn't leave town until about 5:30 on Friday and got home about noon on Saturday! It was a good time frame, but were definitely already planning longer trips! Its so nice to be only a short distance from camp grounds. Next time were planning on really camping it out in the wilderness! It was a first timer for us all I think on our own, so that was way fun! On Friday afternoon, Whitney and I went and got all the groceries and packed up everything! We loaded up their truck and were on our way there! We went o Warm River, about 45 minutes away from Rexburg. Another couple met us up there about an hour after we arrived! They are so much fun! And she is friends with my cousin! Small world! We decided this needs to be a once monthly activity!

A good deal... to me

So I went to Albertson's today and this is what I got for about $14. Yes, its not one of those high rolling deals that you get all this for $3, but its still really good. 30 boxes of mac and cheese, and 6 boxes of capri sun. The deals good until June 2nd. But you dont have to buy this much. the deal is, buy a case of 5 boxes of mac and cheese for $5.49, get another case free, plus 2 boxes of capri sun for free also from the peely's from the box! So 10 boxes of mac and cheese, 2 boxes of capri sun, for 5.49 plus tax. But if you buy two sets, you get a catalina print out to use on your next trip, $2.00 off mac and cheese, but it can be used for the next transaction if that makes sense. I got 2 catalina print outs for all this, so it was also another 4.00 off making it the $14.26! It makes a good food storage start, especially with kids, and the juice is great for camping or trips to the park! can't say no to free!
$14.21 paid, should have been $54.42.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun memorial day weekend... Apart. Juan's sister Maria was graduating to be a medical assistant, and so his mom flew him down there to be a part of that, and he also took Keenan because he was free and his mom had never seen him. So it was a perfect opportunity to go because he didn't have school Monday or Tuesday. They had a great time spending time together, but I was so glad to have them home. I missed them both so much! But was it nice just having one kid to haul around. Every once in a while I thought I needed to get Keenan lunch or something and then remember that he wasn't there. Juan flew out of Salt Lake on Friday so that meant that I got to go spend some time with Kira! How fun! We always have a great time today. We joke that I should just bring some clothes to keep there because I'm always going there. I leave on Sunday night also to go again because Damon has three appointments at Primaries, and then back to Salt Lake again 2 weeks later, to fly out to California. I found out yesterday that my brother Tyson and his family will be in California when we are, so were gonna get together with them also.

On to other news. Juan is doing great in his classes and has been able to stay ahead of him homework which always nice. He is in a Revit class that deals with like house plans. They have to design a house, which he did a beach house, and they have to do everything on the computer, involving everything including insulation! Its a lot of work, and his teacher said he has done really good! Especially for not having the pre-requisite class to get in. His teacher loved him last semester and told him to get in the class, and he would do what he needed as far as the pre-requisite!

Were staying busy this summer! Keenan's loving his toddler lab class on campus, and Damon is starting up again on the 8th also up at the college. They will be in class at the same time for one day! YAHH!! Im gonna be a free woman! I don't know where the time is going! I'm so busy, and June is just going to fly by! It is a good thing, because we are looking forward to all the summer activities!

Maria and Juans Mom

They even got to go into Mexico! He couldn't not get any Mexican candy while he was there!

The whole gang! Juan, Keenan, Maria, his mom Bertha, and his little brother Samuel and Luis! This makes me so excited for Juan to graduate! (He only has 3 semester left of classes, but also 2 internships!)

Luis, Samuel, and Juan hangin' out! He said it was miserably hot there!

I was just informed today that Damon is featured in the new brochure for the Foundation for Children with Microcephaly! This is only part of the brpchure though, the other part didnt save. His picture is on the right side, under the word foundation! Cutest little bug ever! This is so exciting for us! We're attending the convention in about a month and are so excited for it! Its going to be great!

Mother's Day Weekend

SMORE'S

All of us hangin' out. Colby, Trisha, Elijah, Noah, Trevor and Juan. (Whitney and I are taking pics)

We had a very relaxing Mother's day weekend. Juan went shooting with a few guys on Saturday afternoon, and I went to the Nature park with Colby and Trisha. When we came home from there, we packed up and went out to Colby's house for dinner and smore's with Trevor and Whitney. We even played a little game of old sow! Oh the good ol' McGary days playin'. The weather was beautful and is today also. Sunday was way relaxing and Juan even made me breakfast. Thats the first time, and it was great! Sausage, eggs and toast. Perfect! We didn't have any plans for the afternoon, so we napped and decided to go to the Nature park again and have a picnic. The boys loved going down the slide! I think its Damon's all time favorite thing to do now.

Cinco de Mayo

Its time to do some updating! Cinco de Mayo! What a fun day for us here. We went over to our friends house Ben and Kelsie's, and had ourselves a fiesta! Kelsie and I earlier in the day, went to dollar tree to get a few fun things for the event. There was plenty of good food to be had for everyone. Carne Asada, beans, rice, 3 different homemade salsa's, chips, salad, and fried ice cream for dessert. yummy!

Not your typical Fast Sunday

So we decided to check out the student ward today. We would have loved to attend it at the very first, but the time was at 1:00, and that just wasn't going to work with Keenan. Nap time! Now that the weather has been nice, moms are out with the kids in the playground here, and so I have been getting to know them better. Juan has wanted to go for a while but today we checked it out! What a fun ward is all I have to say! I love the Bishop already! I had never really met our bishop in the last ward, but he had us and a few other people come into his office during Sunday school, just to hang out and get to know each other with a few others. Funny guy! In Relief society they passed around a calender for everyone, and about 3-4 days a week, they have some kind of enrichment actvity, whether it be a walking group, sewing, gardening, and whatever else they have! Just a lot of things going on. And they are almost all here at the apartments. So fun fun!

This is the best part! Good week to go there. Elder Bednar was there and spoke, along with his wife, President Clark from BYU-I, our stake president, and then thier wives also spoke, and the Bishop also. Elder Bednar talked about how this would probably never happen again to us, how there were three apostolic keys there. I think thats right. But it was great nevertheless. To be able to hear him bear his testimony and talk about his kids and how he remembers the time when he had little kids at BYU. Good times.

Another thing that struvk me, I took Keenan out at the very end, and I walked out, and straight out the doors the temple was in the same yard! Amazing! I cannot think of anywhere that I wanna be right now, then here! The experiences we are having here are once in a life time! I know I will miss this "era" in our lives and so we are soaking up everything there is to offer!

(pretty much the view here! this is from the parking lot to the right of the church!)
