Hello from Sacramento

We have arrived and are finally back online! I felt so lost without internet especially in trying to find places around here! It is defenitly a different world! We are for sure in a bubble in Rexburg, but I think I kinda like it! People are actually covered and not falling out in every place imaginable! We are enjoying it so far, and grateful to have other interns here as well with famlies! It's been fun getting to know them and having people to do things with. We aren't in the best part of Sacramento but there is a lot if things within a close distance you don't have to go far! And there is a huge mall a few blocks down with every store imaginable! I loved it! We left on Thursday afternoon after Damon's appt and headed towards Reno. There is nothing driving through Nevada! But there are prisons and hitchhiking signs to not pick them up! Kinda creepy! We rolled into Reno at about 10:30 p.m. and stayed the night there! After going through towns of nothing, rolling into Reno was quite a site! Lots of lights and grand hotels and casinos! That was really crazy to us that there are casinos every where! Gas stations, grocery stores, any where they could put one there was one!

I can't get this one to go to the bottom, but this is just right outside our apt. I know ghetto! And all the apartments are gated in with a code to get in! Scary!

Our first stop for dinner was in Wendover! A little gambling town!

Welcome to California!

These next pictures are of our apt. They aren't the greatest things in the world and have a smell that doesn't go away! Its constant candles burning!

Our kitchen

the rest of the kitchen with the table

Our living room. We have Hotel furniture but atleast we didnt have to bring our own!

bathroom, pretty small

boys' room

Our room. The rooms are pretty big compared to what were used too, so that a plus! They particular ones re-done more recently thank goodness! There are some that are a lot worse!
Were loving this experience and are going to have a lot of fun here!

BIG NEWS!

Sacramento Shoreline!

So we have some big news! Juan got a call to do an internship is Sacramento CA! It is such a blessing we cannot even believe it! It has been a long last 2 1/2 days. Tuesday night we submitted a resume and cover letter to this company. Not even jk, we recieved a call from the guy 30 seconds later! It was such a rush! They talked for about 40 minutes and that went great! The next day another guy called and talked to him and told him that they would give him a call around noon to give him an officical answer. Noon came and went, and no phone call. Our hopes were getting let down, and we were feeling so in the blues. 3:00 p.m. im taking Juans bag up to him for his next class and he said don't worry about it, were going to California. What? your serious? Yaht the guy just called and said they were really impressed with him and another guy, they want them on thier team! It was 2 1/2 days of pure ups and downs, wondering if were going or not. They guys down there that he had been talking to, knew that it was a cruch for time because yesterday was the last day to drop out of classes without being charged. So it was a mad rush before all the offices closed to get in to register for the internship, and drop classes! An amazing day! They said they interview quite a bit of people also, and Juan said that some people from his classes were saying that they had applied for it also! We just feel so blessed, and everything about the internship is perfect. Everything that we ever wanted or hoped for in it, we found here. It's just a huge blessing and its exactly what we wanted!

Laser Tag

A new place called the CRAZE opened up here in Rexburg a little while ago, so our friends Mandy and Tyrel invited us to go and check it out! What a FUN night! We did a game of laser tag, played a couple games of pool, some arcades, hit a punching bag for tickets, got tatoos for the kids, ate cold stone ice-cream, and drove through the drive through of Arby with loud music! I felt like a teenager again, and thats always fun! Thanks for the good times guys!

Look who's 2!

I can't believe where the time has gone! What? Keenan is 2 already? It seems like I just had this little baby, and now he's growing up to be such a little man with his own personality. Keenan has always been so fun to have around! He's a little explorer and loves to be outside! He pretty good about being able to go outside and stick around the playground and I just check on him every few minutes. He learned to say outside when we were at my parents house, and now whenever he wants to go, he says outside! He starting to say more and more words. His list of vocabulary is outside, mom, shoes, bye, hi, fish, wow, all right, thank you, and cheese. He loves to say all these things! Of course we had to do a full on party for him because that's just what we do! Its the Enriquez tradition, or really its a Spanish tradition that we absolutely love! It was a construction party, and I had so much fun planning it! From construction zone tape, to tonka trucks, it was full on! We ate food, had a pinata that my friend Mandy made that was pretty much amazing! She did awesome on it! And my dad built 12 toolboxes for the little kids to paint! Wow do I appreciate him for doing that and being 10 hours away! Thanks dad! I think you made the party! Everyone loved the idea! And of course a party wouldn't really be a party for us, unless we played volleyball until we could no longer see. And we played all weekend long. Juan's sisters and Maria's boyfriend, and Jordan and Natalie came up for the occasion. They drove over 10 hours to be here with Keenan! It was so much fun to have them here, it wasn't long enough! It was a little sad having them here. It was a piece of home they brought and now its back to the same old, same old, school, work and therapies. Keenan got every toy imaginable! A tonka truck, skill saw, Caterpillar machinery, coloring stuff, clothes, cars, balls, and candy, and a handy Manny dancing toolbox! I wide variety of toys and he loves everything! It was a great party, but I'm glad its over!

Rough Afternoon

My little guy had a rough afternoon, and what seemed like it would never happen, happened today. He had his first ever seizure. We have thought that he had been having seizures before hand but when they put him on his reflux medicine, what we thought were seizures, were gone. I had called Juan and told him to lay Damon down for a quick nap before he had therapy at 3:00. I just got home from Wal-Mart, and Juan yells to me to come over here quick that it was happening again, but worse. Damon's eyes and lips were twitching, he was very stiff, and wasn't making any sounds, and what was worse, he wasn't breathing. It was a scary situation because we didn't know what we were supposed to be doing. About a minute and half later, he came out of it, but wasn't very responsive to us, and wouldn't look at me or want his toys. He was also so limp, and for Damon, that's unusual. We called the DR, and took him right in and get checked out and now their going to do another EEG to see if things have changed. We knew it was a matter of time, but it's never easy going through it. And there is nothing you can do to help. So many things are running through our heads now, and wondering are these only going to happen while he's sleeping? what if we can't hear him? What if he can't breathe and were not there to do anything? I have been actually really calm about this, and Juan is a little more worried. I think as a mom, I have been through so much with him that its another thing to add to his wall. Damon is such a special little boy, and I don't know what we would do without him! He makes this family stick together no matter what! We love you Damon!
