Judging from the Outside

Damon started sunbeams today. What a fun little experience for him. I was nervous for the sake of people looking at him. I guess I wouldn't have been but before they had us go in for singing time, his teachers asked me, not knowing I was his mom, "So what do you do with him?" I simplt told her that you didn't have to do much, just play with him, and she said, "Well he doesn't play." Did she just say that? yeah, my little boy can play. Maybe not like the other kids play, but he likes to be interacted with. So she says, I think you need to come to class with me cause I don't know what to do with him so I did. We were waiting outside the door to go to class, and she was like I don't know who his parents are. I said I'm his mom. Then she wanted to apologize and hoped I didn't take offense to anything. It was all fine in the end, and she's a great teacher and maybe didnt know how to approach the situation. I just hope he doesn't get ignored when Im not there with him.

It's a good thing that we have tough skin and don't get easily offended!!
I would recommend going in there at first with him to show her what he can do. She will become more confident with a disabled child in her class with time, but it's a learning process for them too!

I can't believe that I won what I really wanted after all!! Wow, lucky!!
