Rough Afternoon

My little guy had a rough afternoon, and what seemed like it would never happen, happened today. He had his first ever seizure. We have thought that he had been having seizures before hand but when they put him on his reflux medicine, what we thought were seizures, were gone. I had called Juan and told him to lay Damon down for a quick nap before he had therapy at 3:00. I just got home from Wal-Mart, and Juan yells to me to come over here quick that it was happening again, but worse. Damon's eyes and lips were twitching, he was very stiff, and wasn't making any sounds, and what was worse, he wasn't breathing. It was a scary situation because we didn't know what we were supposed to be doing. About a minute and half later, he came out of it, but wasn't very responsive to us, and wouldn't look at me or want his toys. He was also so limp, and for Damon, that's unusual. We called the DR, and took him right in and get checked out and now their going to do another EEG to see if things have changed. We knew it was a matter of time, but it's never easy going through it. And there is nothing you can do to help. So many things are running through our heads now, and wondering are these only going to happen while he's sleeping? what if we can't hear him? What if he can't breathe and were not there to do anything? I have been actually really calm about this, and Juan is a little more worried. I think as a mom, I have been through so much with him that its another thing to add to his wall. Damon is such a special little boy, and I don't know what we would do without him! He makes this family stick together no matter what! We love you Damon!

Oh man, I'm so sorry!
Seizures are freaky stuff. I would get so scared when my older brother would have seizures...nothing you can do, but keep them from hurting themselves... I can't imagine it being from a mom's perspective, too! Bless your little family!

I hope that this was a seizure that will be few and far between! Take Care.
