The Beginning of a new Journey

So I've got a few minutes at the moment. Damon is content and Juan stepped out for a bit. Things have been kinda crazy but kinda relaxing so far. We got into Utah at about 6:30 pm at my sisters house to drop Keenan off for the next couple days. The kids were having a slumber party until about ten and the play pen had to come out so they could get some sleep!

I took Juan to Tucano's for his birthday yesterday after we dropped Keenan off and we loved it! I had been to Rodizios a few weeks ago so I had to take Juan! For those that don't know what that is, it's a Brazilian grill restaurant where they bring lots of different meat around on skewers and an unlimited salad bar, meat and appetizers! Awesome! He is now recommending it to everyone!

We got to our hotel at about 9:30 pm and got Damon ready for bed and the next day. He was so fresh and so clean not knowing what was coming.

Hanging out at the Hotel

This train was in the same day surgery waiting area but it was hard to compete with the fish that daddy was sitting next to him with.

Enjoying having his legs accessible

All dressed and prepped ready to go!

Getting taken back in a wagon! So many times we have come to Primary's and there are kids riding in wagons. I always wondered if Damon would get a chance to ride in one. Now he has.

Hangin out with the Balloon that daddy bought him. As soon as that came in the room, nothing else mattered! This kid absolutely loves balloons! Nothing can compete and he can spot one anywhere!

His new legs for the next 3 weeks! A lot different then I had thought. We were expecting a hard cast all the way to the end of his toes and for 6 weeks! We feel blessed!

Surgery took about 1 1/2-2 hours and while we were in the waiting area it was weird to think that they were working on him at that moment. Everything went as planned but were told this was not his only surgery he was going to have. We did know this already!
Only one parent was able to go back to recovery so I went and it was so hard to hold back tears. To see your child in so much pain and nothing you can do, and I couldn't even hold him, and still haven't been able to, its kinda sad. I'm so used to cuddling him when he needs me, i feel kinda helpless! A little later we will be able to take him for a walk and I know he's going to love it! He knows that you enter and leave through a door so he has been looking out the door and wanting to leave! Were there with you Damon, we wanna leave too!

It's these kind of experiences that sink your roots deeper into the gospel, add more meaning to "Families are Forever," and increase faith in Jesus Christ. We love your family. Can't wait to see you in April!!!
