Sitting Milestone

Have you ever looked at your kids and have one of those Aha moments when you know what your doing is right, and you are in the right place? Yesterday was my first moment like that. I know...I know...what was I doing before that I didn't notice? Well let me tell you. I have always been so on the go that I don't take the time to realize what my kids are doing, or what Im doing half the time. I'm selfish I know. But I'm not the subject for now.

I have been sick for like the last 4 days, can't do anything, lay around, feel awful sickness. Well...ok I did maybe start a costume. More to come on that later. Anywho, I HAD to do the dishes yesterday and Damon was sitting on the couch half watching "How to Train a Dragon" and half watching me. When I looked at him, he gave me the sweetest smile. I had not taken the time to watch my kids ever before. It took me being sick and wanting to die..ok not really, but I had the time to just sit and watch them interact and Keenan growing up before my eyes.

Simple things like this make me smile. It's always been a struggle for Damon to sit, let alone hold himself up for any amount of time. Two nights ago, Juan was walking with Damon and Damon was supporting himself. So last night I decided I was going to sit him down and see what he could do. And this is what he so talently did for me. Sat up long enough to get the camera out and shoot away! So it's not the best posture, but who's judging! I'm not! This kid is a rocket scientist in my book now! I have to owe it all to the school he's going to. Lots of time working with him everyday and supporting him in his stander while he does art projects. It takes some pretty special people if you ask me that can work with special needs kids. Thank you Pasco school district for helping my son, namely Maya Angelou, Thank you Juan for moving our family to Rexburg to eventually move us back here, and Thank you Damon, for being a part of our family! We love you!
