I recieved a call Sunday morning bright and early at 6:10 a.m. to come in and have this baby! The day was finally here! I woke Juan up said it was time, I jumped in the shower, got the rest of the things ready, kissed the boys goodbye and by 7:15 we were out the door and heading in. When I got there they were waiting for me, got us in the room, and hooked an IV up really fast. The nurse tried to check if I was at all ready or if we needed to go to the little pill to start me. At my appointment the previous Tuesday I was barely at a one. But she couldnt tell and so she checked with my DR and we started right up with the Pitocin. Within about 20 minutes, I could already feel contractions that were steady. After about being in the room for 2 hours, the Dr and nurse came in, said they were going to check me and break my water. I was so shocked that they were going to break my water so soon! But I was at a 4 and progressing fast. That was another shock for me. They asked if I wanted an epidural, but at the moment I wasn't ready for one. That quickly changed about 20 minutes later and I was asking for one. When they checked me again, after I had the epiduarl in I was at a 7. I couldn't believe how fast this was going. With the other boys, I was in labor for 12 hours so I was fully expecting to be in labor that long again.
Within an hour and a half of getting the epidural, I was ready to start pusing at 1:30 p.m.
2:07 Niko Alexander Enriquez was born sunny side up just like Keenan was, weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz and 19" long.
