Kitchen Remodel

This wasn't supposed to be a bigger project other then painting the walls. I knew I wanted to keep my curtains and so I wanted something that would bring them out more. I also knew I wanted to continue with the red theme. So I added red and yellow. I am loving it. I wasn't too sure about the whole yellow thing but I went with it and force myself to like things. That's just how I work. If I think to long it doesn't happen. So I painted, and then I went to Costco. That word alone means trouble! Cant get out of there without spending a fortune it seems. I limit myself a lot when I go there! BUt this trip was the perfect timing. They had these tiles for $5.00 off. I sent a text message to Juan with the picture and said this is happening :) So I bought what I thought would be enough, 6 boxes. Ended up needing 2 more. It has totally transformed my kitchen and I feel like I am standing in a magazine when I am in it. What a difference and I love it so much! 

 

 It was the perfect snow break project since I had Juan home for multiple days! We borrowed our friends tile saw and poor guy had to use it without the guard and it sprayed him like crazy! But he was a champ and stood to the side to make it not nearly as bad.

We worked as a great team! We have so much fun working together on projects for our home. It brings us closer and its important to me that he be involved in them with me. I want him to feel the fulfillment that I get out of it. And that we did! He was so excited to show the guys at work what we did during break! Juan was the tile man cutter and I was the placement on the walls with the glue stuff.

 

Days and days went by and I finally got around to grouting it! There's a first for everything!  

 

 

 I can't say enough good things about the results! It had been a long while since I went to the Goodwills around. We have some pretty fantastic stores around here! I made a killing the day I went and happen to be there on Red tag day where it was all 50% and I looked in my cart and most the stuff I had was red tag! score! We finished it up and got rid of the old blue blinds we had since we bought the house, and put up faux wood blinds! It has really brightened up the space! I love keeping it clean!
