11 days in the NICU! Too long that's for sure! I went in today hoping to bring her home... I had anxiety/anticipation thinking something might come up to delay her. And it did. Before she could go home they needed to do an xray of her kidneys to make sure there was no reflux into them. Good news there was not!
I had the boys with me the last couple days and took them to my little waiting room at the hospital. It's at drop in child care which is so awesome! I just call that morning or on my way to put them on the list and take them there for at couple hours. I hung around as long as they could handle, and then we decided to leave and have them call me when she was ready to go. Glad we didn't hang around because the surgeon finally came in and said he didn't have time to take out her Broviak on her chest and that he would do it tommorow. So we have a for sure discharge for tommorow but still a bummer cause I was really hoping for today! One more night of decent sleep before she comes home I guess.
Today was also the first time that Niko was able to see her! He was so excited to get a NICU sticker and go see Adalyn. He's already proving to be a big brother and helper!
