My dad gave the life sketch on my grandma and he did a good job! He was followed by each of the other kids giving a Christlike attribute that represented her, which all were really good because they all gave stories about her life and how they impacted them either growing up or later in life.
Again, not a dry eye in the congregation. The grandsons and grandson-in-laws sang "Ye Elders of Israel" and the last verses that my aunt Jan changed, struck everyone when singing "Oh grandma, oh grandma, we bid thee farewell, you've gone off to heaven to wait for us there."
I'm glad that she is buried in Basin City where she is close to all of us, and we can visit her often. She is buried in the Riverview Heights Cemetery in Basin City.
My grandpa and their oldest daughter, my aunt Sheryl with grand kids surrounding them.
The pallbearer's were all the grandsons. Half were the ones taking her from the church outside to the hearse, and the others were to take her to her grave site.

If you know us, the party doesn't end with one thing. We always find the best way to continue them! I think this was the fullest my parents house has ever been! About 30 kids were running around inside and outside. We had a late birthday party for my mom and Melanie, and in memory of my grandma because she had the same birthday as them also, we made homemade ice cream, cake and cupcakes. We had our filling of sugar the whole week to last a lifetime!
Kira and I always have a crazy time when we get together and this was a somewhat decent picture of us! I wouldn't say its great but who cares!
Juan told me that if I would wait until Monday instead of leaving Saturday he would go with my to WA. So of course I wait but that meant he had lots of homework to catch up on so a lot of his time was spend either on his laptop or my parents computer. Everyone was so impressed that he was so good about getting it done! I was too! But I wasn't worried he wouldn't. He knows what he has to do, and he knows its his last semester. No time for messing around.
On Saturday, all us girls went to the new beauty school in Richland/Kennewick behind the mall. Clare's was bought out in Pasco and renamed and moved into a really nice building. They are going to be offering more services which is nice. Well for the whole month of February, they are doing free pedicures and manicures so we went in early and stood at the front doors to sign right up! It worked out perfectly! There were 6 places and there were 6 of us. A fun girls weekend!
It's always a bummer leaving home. I hate it and so does Juan. We don't like to look in our rear view mirrors and see us drive away. There is just something about Basin City area that you just love! It could also be that is where all the family is and the weather is amazing! Who wants to leave 50 degree weather where the kids can play outside, ride four wheelers, horses, play with the animals, and ride on the zip line? Its HOME! We love it there and can't wait for another 7 weeks and we will be there for good!
