6 years ago on Thursday I had my first born son Damon.
I didn't know what to expect being a first time mother or know what to do. He was perfect in every way possible. He was just a little guy at 6 lbs 3.5 oz and 19.5 in long.
A little bit about my labor and my story with Damon
During my pregnancy, everything was perfectly normal. Normal being that I was super sick a lot of my pregnancy and working full time cutting hair and also managing the salon. When I went for my 20 wk ultrasound where they do the full examination, (atleast this is what I can recall, it may have been at about 17-18 wks) everything looked great except I had lower amniotic fluid then they like to see. So they sent me across the road to Dr Halverson who is a specialist. From there on out, I was seeing him once a week and sometimes twice. I was eventually put on strict bedrest and to drink lots of fluids. I think normal amniotic fluid is about 12 and I got as low as a 6, then a 4. Pretty much no room for him to move around in.
I was Christmas shopping with my mom before my appt at 2:00 pm and when I went in, it was, "were not going to wait any longer were going to send you over to the hospital. They might not induce you right away and send you home with some pills to get you started."
I remember being so nervous and my hands getting clamy and thinking, this is it! I wasn't sent home from the hospital but started right away. About 12 hours later, I welcomed this prefect little baby in my arms.
