Christmas Spirit

Our home has been blessed with the Christmas Spirit all month long!
Christmas music is usually playing on Pandora, while I clean, the boys play on the ground, and I just try and enjoy the season.
I am trying to figure out why my family, out of so many families, was blessed by complete strangers!
About 2 months ago, I received a phone call while we were in the hospital with Damon, that our family had been turned in to be sponsored. I was in complete shock because we are fully capable of getting gifts for our kids, of course it wasn't going to be an all out Christmas. It was going to be a normal year for us. We know what a little Christmas is about and try to make the best out of money. A couple weeks went by, and I received another phone call asking to confirm our kids ages, what they wanted, and what we needed and wanted. I was in total shock again as I gave them ideas of what our kids liked. As I got off the phone, I was speechless and text Juan about what had just happened.
Last night was delivery night... As we walked outside, I could see a small SUV with the back seat down, and boxes and boxes of gifts! I couldn't believe it! Again, I am still wondering what we did that we deserved to be chosen as one of six families that Intel sponsored. Our tree is now mounting with wrapped gits with all our names on them.
We decided to open one gift yesterday for each child, and Damon got a little clock that lights up and sings, Keenan got an iron man 4wheeler that shoots a little thing, Niko a bumbo, and a vacuum because ours has been messing up and not working well. I don't think my kids will have as great a Christmas as they do this year. I am so grateful to those families that sacrificed to buy my family gifts without even knowing who we are. I will be giving back when we are financially set and want to help a family in need.
We are anxiously awaiting Santa's arrival on Sunday! We are very excited for a low key Christmas with just us and Juan's sister and boyfriend. I feel like a real grown up now, having done our own Thanksgiving, and now Christmas. The Traditions are beginning in our family and I feel whole. There is nothing better then being with your family and enjoying these holidays together.
We are grateful for the birth of the Savior. We have been working towards reading to the Christmas story and two nights ago we started it. Last night I remembered that I have a whole collection of Church pictures so we got those out and read the scriptures about Jesus' birth. It is so fun to hear Keenan know that the pictures are of Jesus and he knew the Shepard's! Christ is the real meaning of Christmas and I have been reminded so much lately that He is the one to remember. It's so easy to get caught up in buying gifts, and the hustle and bustle of everything and everyone in the stores.
