Well we have made it to almost 2 weeks at being home. Damon has been off most pain meds since monday. He still has random times where he starts crying in pain so we will give him ibuprofen. Rarely do we give him the oxycodon. Valium has been a life savor though! When Damon gets worked up hes gets worked up and it takes him a while to calm down. Like an hour! So that is where valium is great! Makes him relax enough to get to sleep. We moved his bed into the living room so we dont have to move him too much. That has helped so much! But we are now being able to pick him up without him hurting. But it is no easy task! He is long and we have to pick him up horizontal and straight since he has the abductor between his legs. The other boys have been great with him! They understand I think in more ways then I might know. Keenan says that Damon was at the hospital and he got his legs cut off. We had told him that they had to cut his legs ams fix his hips. Thats what he got out of it. Damon brought home a balloon home ofcourse. Niko was so great tonrun over and try to give it to him or to turn his feeding machine off.
I have had a somewhat hard time staying home all day days in a row. If I need to run to the store I can when Juan gets home or on the weekends. I have kept busy though. Cleaning, working out with friends, play dates, just trying to keep sane! I kept Keenan home last week from school because I didnt want to bother anyone with taking him. This week he needed to go back. His school was nice enough to let him stay for lunch which he usually doesnt. It worked that my friend was able to take/pick him up this week. Im going to try and do it nextweek since I can start moving him around. It hit me today though im not sure if I am as ready as I thought I was to send Keenan to school full timd next year! And it may be that I am stuck at home but I love that little boy and how hard he tries to be good and how he tries to understand everything. He amazes me with how much he comprehends and how much he remembers! He will do great at school!
We are all ready to be back to a school routine.
